Yes. Any vehicle with a foreign plate driven in Turkey must have a valid Turkish motor insurance policy or an internationally recognised document such as a Green Card. Driving without it is illegal and can result in confiscation of your vehicle.

Under Turkish customs rules, a foreign-plate vehicle may stay in Turkey for up to 24 months. After that it must be exported, or you can apply for a customs extension. Our team can advise on your specific situation.
