When Ikamet launched in 2013 as Turkey's first English-language residency platform, it quickly became clear that insurance was the biggest pain point for newcomers. Turkish policies are written in Turkish, call centres only speak Turkish, and the product range is confusing — foreign plate cars, DASK earthquake mandates, health requirements for residence permits — none of it mapped to what expats were used to back home.
